Weeks 1–3

Characterize the landscape of a motion and post-production studio.

  • Who are the key players within a motion and post-production studio?

  • What is your role as a producer within a motion and post-production studio?

  • What are the major phases of the production process? What happens within each phase?

Weeks 4–6

Analyze schedules and budgets, and execute resourcing best practices.

  • What is the hold process? How do you manage resources using the hold process?

  • How do you interpret client schedules? How can you tell whether projects are on or off track?

  • What are the trade-offs creative studios face when scoping and executing projects? How do you identify scope creep?

Weeks 7–10

Monitor projects and people, and provide feedback.

  • How should you be taking notes to help monitor projects? What do you need to capture, interpret and relate?

  • What administrative tasks are you responsible for as an entry-level producer? How can you engage with your team effectively?

  • How do you quality check deliverables to ensure projects meet the client and studio standards?

Each of our 120-180 minute lessons is delivered in a live, virtual setting so that you are guaranteed interaction and real-time feedback from an industry expert and build community with other producers in the industry. Our extra-curricular assignments are assessed by our expert instructors and each class has a minimum of 30 minutes embedded in the lesson structure for Q&A.
